Cant believe I did this
Well, this week hasn't been the best for me due to illness. My '91 Laredo, the great girl she's been in the harsh 3 ft snow (my mother told me I would NEVER make it out with that much snow.. she blew past that and the 4 foot drift the plow left at the street no problem) and everywhere else, has almost 200k miles on her. Rather than be rational and understand that with that many years and miles on stock parts that they will prob need replaced (like the harmonic balancer and orings, water pump, a few others) I became upset and actually considered selling her and buying a 1995 Ford Explorer off a friend of mine. On the drive from work this evening, despite the heat and the ol girl runnin warm durin the day, she drove like a dream, and I felt terrible for actually considering buying a p.o.s Ford over my good Jeep.
I have heard Jeep XJ's can get 400k miles easily before big things start to go.
The AW4 tranny I have heard is a hell of a beast to run behind the bombproof 4.0L.
The look of the XJ scares the sh** out of most other SUVs.
Fords have more tranny probs than I can spit at.
My family never owned a Ford that lasted longer than 210k miles.
Ford-- Found On Road Dead
Do you all think there is forgiveness for me among the XJ gods?
