Cylinder Head Source
I did some searching but thought I'd ask the people who have experience.
Where is the best place to get a nice cylinder head that is guaranteed not to crack again like the late model Cherokee's? I think my head has the dreaded crack as I am losing coolant. I'm trying to find somewhere that isn't a a million dollars, but a good working/rebuilt or new head.
I found an all aluminum setup, but they want $1500 for it. I mean that is a little crazy, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for one that is slightly tweaked for performance, but not that much. Thanks for the info, links would be cool too if you have them.

www.alabamacylinderhead.com www.clearwatercylinderhead.com The first one has been reported to have long lead times.
You can locate a 0331 TUPY head, off of 03+ 4.0 out a wrangler, grand cherokee, you can find one at a salvage yard for around $200 (here anyways), have checked/rebuilt at the machine shop for another $200+/-. This is plug-n-play. The TUPY head is the same as the 0331 found in the XJ, but with the week cylinder 3/4 defect fixed.
