which cylinder head? 85 cherokee 2.5L
Hello,
I removed my cylinder head and found out through a machine shop that it is cracked and needs to be replaced. I need some advice on what brand to use, haven't found much through research.
The other thing is I need to drive to Oregon from Phoenix, AZ at the end of this week or early next week for a new job, so I am in a rush and can't really wait a long time to order a new cylinder head.
I can turn mine in so I am disregarding core pretty much:
O'Reillys
PowerTorque - PTQ Part # 2A24)
$340
+ $60 core
Available today
NAPA
Moore's Cylinder Head - MCY CHR1505

NAPA IronClad - ATK 2A24 Remfd
(w/ 7/16" Head Bolts;Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Is Required To Place Order;@WARNING - Not For Motor Home, RV Or Off-Road Use. Warranty Will Be Void If Used In A Vehicle That Is Not Specified By NAPA Iron Clad Engines) ***why not offroad use? my Jeep is definitely all off-road...
$367
+ $115 core
AutoZone:
Surefire 2A42
$340
+$60 core
The machine shop quoted me at $575 which seemed excessive
Same Moore’s cylinders as at NAPA
Availability unsure on NAPA/Autozone, will call later
Any advice? unsure what the specific qualifications mean.. also don't think I can find OEM for an 85 vehicle

What size are your head bolts?
If 1/2"...........any year will work.
Make certain you have the temp sender hole...........will be good to go.\
I know that '86 up have 1/2" bolts..........maybe only the '84 that had the 7/16"............check that.
