cuts out under load

My sons 94 4L XJ cuts out under load going up hills, or picking up speed.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter

How long since the last tuneup was done? You could have bad plug wires that are shorting out with a load. You should also check the fuel pressure and replace the fuel filter.
