Default Cruise not working

So I had my front bumper off to do some work on the steering box, (plating the frame and steel spacer) afterwards, when I put it back together, cruise does not work.

- Light does not come on the dash when I try to turn it on.

- Horn and airbag are fine.

- Cannot find any vacuum leaks, although I don't have a tester...

Ideas?

Verify the Vacuum Reservoir under the right bumper end cap is hooked up properly.

If it is, check the vacuum tube that runs behind the battery, to the reservoir, to make sure it is not cracked/broken. You can see that connection by laying on the ground under the right end cap and pulling down on the front edge of the right wheel well liner.

I pulled that tube up and located my reservoir in the engine bay, it seems OK.

After shutting off the vehicle, and unplugging the cap you pictured, I can hear it suck in air pretty good.

Would a leak keep the light from coming on the dash also?

I overlooked the fact that the cruise light doesn't come on.

Generally when the light doesn't come on the on/off switch on the steering wheel is defective.

If you think you need to change the switch, they are year specific.

Thanks!

I have a parts car, mine is a 99 and the parts car is a 2000. Is it the clock spring that needs to be changed, or the actual button on the wheel?

Horn and Airbag seem OK.

Try the 'button' on the wheel first. Change both sides while you're at it.
