My cruise and horn stopped working and my airbag light turned on I’m new to owning an xj and was wondering what this could be.

x2. Piece that allows the electrical connection to rotate with the steering wheel. Have to pull the steering wheel to change it. Don't let that scare you, its easy. Go rent a steering wheel puller from the auto parts store. Make sure the replacement clockspring is the cruise control version. When I did mine I bought the wrong one and no longer have cruise.

Just make sure the wheels are straight when you do this.

Let me expand on this a bit. Autozone (and, I think, Advance Auto), will sell tools to you that you return for a full refund. FULL refund. That way they don't have to track rental deposits and time ued and all of that hoohah. If you never bring it back, no problem; they sold the tool. If you do your job, forget the tool, and take it back 2 months later, no problem; you get a full refund. I just rented abotu $250 worth of tools to do a ball joint replacement on my Ford. Got every penny back.

If you have no clue how to go about this repair, get yourself over to YouTube U and search for a relevant video. There are a bunch of them. Get stuck? Have questions? Post back here, and we'll do our best to confuse you!
