Default cruise control won't work?

96 Cherokee county and my cruise control won't work? I don't have a fuse box cover to look and see if it's the fuse or if there is a fuse for the cc

Not much help on this subject but I seem to remember vacuum being involved with cc. You may want to inspect for a vacuum leak under the hood.

x2^^^
I believe the CC vacuum is pulled directly from the vacuum ball but i could be wrong. I would also check to make sure that the CC cable is actually hooked up to the throttle body.

I can only go by my '93 Laredo.. If your CC is intermittant, i'd wonder if it works/doesn't work when your vents are in a certain position.. Since the CC uses vacuum to operate, a leak behind the heater control panel could affect it working or not. If you already checked for vacuum leaks from the CC to the ball, it Tees off and goes thru the firewall to your vent control. Pull the cover off and look at how the lines connect in there. You might find a loose/cracked hose. Hope this helps

I'm also having this issue with my cruise control. Did you solve your problem? I'd like some input as well.
