Cruise Control is Crusin for a Brusin

Every time I set my cruise controll on my 99 XJ, It speeds at least 5mph over what I set it and never seems to slow back down before I am speeding.

Is there any way to adjust when my cruise control slows down? Any input would be helpful

Mine does that too, but usually goes down close to what speed I set.

Maybe the accelerate button on the right side of the steering wheel is sticking. That adds 6 mhr to the speed when pressed. Or maybe your tire size is throwing off the speed calibration.
