Try purging your fuel line using the Shraider valve on the front end of the injector line.

i have the same problem. turn the key on and off about 5-6 times, wait a few seconds before each time. you should hear your fuel pump turn on when you turn the key like 3rd or 4th time. once you hear this, it should start right up..

Did you have the engine running when you purged it? I would recommend not standing on the drivers side of the engine compartment if you do. If this works what you are doing is getting trapped air out of the rail and the Xj marks it's territory by spraying all over you.

I have a similar method for checking for spark. Here hold this . . .

....If you're lucky, you will only get wet and smell like gas. If you're not so lucky you could become a Screaming Alpha, do dumb stuff like that. Never push that purge valve when the jeep is running.

I agree.......boulderdash. Put a fuel pressure gauge on that beast and see how long it take the pressure to build will cranking, i'll bet you have a bad check valve in the fuel pump module.
