Crazy guages
On my '98 jeep cherokee im having some issues with speedometer and tachometer. They will be sitting on 0 and then randomly jump to random numbers. It just started doing this and im baffled. Also i run out of gas when the guage is at about a quarter of a tank(found out the hard way), how do i fix that?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You may have dirty or loose connections causing the gauges to jump. You may want to pull the gauge cluster and check all the connection and clean them really well. It is a real common problem with Jeeps.
As for the fuel gauge that might be that the PO did a fuel pump change out and bent the rod on the float giving you the incorrect reading.
