This weekend, I finaly hooked up my amp and sub. Hooked everything up right and of course I drained the battery setting the stereo. Got the battery re-charged and all was good. Well today while I was driving, my car stalled for a quick second then was fine and then all of a sudden the battery guage maxed out and the check guages light came on. So I pulled over and disconnected the amp. Battery guage went back to normal and no issues. Could it be grounded bad. I grounded it to the metal tire mount but I am thinking I should have mounted it right to the bare metal on the body. Could this be what is causing my battery issue?

It just doesnt make sense that the battery guage will shoot up in high RPMs and check guages light pops on. When I stop the guage drops back to 14 and the guages light turns off. When I disconnect the amp everything goes back to normal.
