Crankshaft pulley hitting fan blade
Hello my crankshaft pulley appears to be a slight bit forward not aligned with the other pulleys. Belt comes offline and fan nicks it. Whats the cause and what can I do to repair? 96jeep 4.0 v6. Thank you for any info you may have.

Sounds like your harmonic balancer is coming apart. Should be fairly obvious by gandering at it. Very common problem when the outer ring of the balancer comes delaminated from the center and moves forward or backward.

Check the harmonic balancer..
I had the outer ring walk on my '89 sometime it would hit the fan blade other times it was fine.
while you have it off don't forget to replace the front seal

I've changed them on a couple of my Jeeps. If you use the Chrysler puller, it's small enough that you can pull the balancer without having to remove anything but the belt.
