Either a strap wrench or tie a small rope through the spokes and tie it off to some other sturdy engine part.

A longer bolt is all that's needed to reinstall.

You don't need a new bolt. The problem is the bolt is too short to use to pull the new balancer on. So you go buy one that's longer. Pull it about half way on, remove the longer bolt, put the stock back in and finish pulling it on.

That is the wrong to do it and can cause the bolt to break off in the crank, also it stretches the threads of the bolt and the threaded crank. Usually when you rent the puller it also works as an installer.

What the ding-dang are you talking about? How is the bolt going to break or stretch? Please take the breaker-bar away from the gorilla.

Lol. I did the longer bolt method. It worked excellent. I didn't have to tighten it, just get pulley in enough so I can use the original bolt.

Smart thinking right there.

Most of the tool sets come with both the removal and instillation tool.

His was missing few stuff. I had to rummage through the bins for two bolts to make a set of three.
