as for the cam..

i reallllllly thought about doing a mild cam in the 4.0....

i didnt need to spend a $$$ on it also its a DD..

i looked in to a comp cam with lifters http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/Ca...x?csid=12&sb=2

also youll need new springs and retainers.. to do everything for the cam was going to be something like $800 if i got 40hp and 50+ lbs i wood be happy..

its deff something to do..

in your honest opinion, which cam in that list would you say is better in respects for still being a DD and being able to still go off road?
The stock '87-'95 Jeep 4.0 camshaft is a single pattern cam with the following specs:

Advertised duration int./exh.: 270.0/270.0 deg
Duration @ 0.050" lift int./exh.: 197.0/197.0 deg
Valve lift int./exh.: 0.424"/0.424"
Lobe separation angle: 112 deg
Intake centerline angle: 120 deg
Valve overlap (advertised): 46 deg
IVO: 21.5 deg ATDC (0.050" lift)
IVC: 38.5 deg ABDC
EVO: 22.5 deg BBDC
EVC: 5.5 deg BTDC

for a DD and decent low end i would go with
http://www.crower.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?prod_id=44915
or
http://www.crower.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?prod_id=44242
if you dont want to be that high in the RPM range.
if your interested i actually have the Crower cam above part # 44242 that ill sell to you, never been used, $140 and ill pay the shipping.

ah, man, if you had gotten to me before i bought the throttle body i just put in... kinda set me back a bit. i appreciate the thought though.

i like the sounds of these Crower cams... maybe after i get some other small bills paid off and further down the road this could more than defiantly be an option.

so for i have 96 HO with DUI firepower ignition, 2000 intake manifold with APN header, bored TB, K&N FIPK, summit hiflow cat, borla catback and mines got plenty of sack...
next on my list is 2 1/2 custom s pipe, and some yella terra roller rockers
Personally I'd be careful on what cam you put in the 4.0, I've read that alot of guys have had problems with them..

Sheesh, after this exhaustive subject, might as well throw in one of those 4.9L pre-built strokers and call it a day. Good link.
