lots of long extensions and a buddy to grab the bolts and plastic cover so they dont fall into the bell housing.

How about you put down the peace pipe, step away from the computer, and go crawl around your jeep. If you need to ask where and how to do this easy repair then i doubt you can do it by yourself without someone holding your hand.

Google is your friend along with a Haynes manual.

You will need alot of extensions like 4 foot and a universal joint makes it a little easier. Get your friend to line up the socket and the u turn the rachet from under the XJ. You will be positioned near the Crossmember

I am about to do my Crank Sensor as well. So when you say 4' of extension, that would be to run the ratchet down through the engine bay?? You think I could do it with 12" extension and a universal joint going from under my Jeep??? I removed my front drive shaft a long time ago, so I don't have to worry about that getting in my way. I was looking at it earlier and it looks like I can get it with the 12" extension from underneath.

The Haynes manual just says to remove the two bolts and pull out the sensor. Wow, usually they are more helpful than that.....
