Default cracked manifold ...not so cracked

ok well my jeep had a very loud exhaust leak...coming from almost under the intake...or atleast higher in the motor

My thought was a typical exhaust manifold leak...from a crack

so i ordered a new one, gasket and all, get the intake and manifold off...couldnt find any cracks

while we have it off, i look at the motor mounts...not rusted at all, looks like its in great shape....not worn down or anything..just typical 12+ years old but in good shape

So now im wondering, since i have it off...anything else i should do while its apart or just put it back together and run it...

like i wrote, motor mounts look fine...new manifold should go on easy and intake....

anything else or just finish it up tonight and drive it

( I should say this too....that "exhaust leak") would almost go away totally after the motor got warm) ONLY did that when it would sit for a long period of time

If it was me, I'd do the 5 freeze plugs that hide behind the header. Easy to do while it's off and cheap insurance that your not in there again for a while.

Have you ever had real cruddy coolant in your Jeep? Ever flushed out a bunch of crap?
If not, I'd skip the freeze plugs.
