I can hear a leak and I can smell pure exhaust if I am in the engine bay with the engine running.

could be leaking in more than one place as well. Might just need a new one.

Do you guys think this would work?

I've come to the conclusion I should replace it myself. It's like a Saturday job right? I just got a job so I think I'll be able to replace it soon. Praying for no snow when I replace it.

If/when you replace the exhaust manifold I recommend using the OEM exhaust gasket (dealer). I found that aftermarket gaskets are out of register, i.e., the ports in the gasket don't line up with the ports in the head. The OEM gasket is dead nuts.

I was gonna order the Felpro gasket but if you say the dealer works the best I'll guess I'll use that.

Good choice. Felpro was one of the ones that was out of register.
