Default cps

I have a 99 cherokee that I believe has a faulty crankshaft position sensor.
1- hard starting = spins to long
2-stalls for a second on bumps
3-idles rough at start up
I see the sensor, driver side bellhousing.
To replace it two bolts on the bell housing, and plug the harness in? Is there any setting are adjustments? I see it is a pain to get at, but do I need to know anything else???? Thanks

Thanks. I got mine out and new (well different) one in. I used a bunch of extensions, didn't have to drop DS cuz I have small hands and arms . Only thing that sucks is my Jeep is still stalling

Are you working on the '96 in your profile? Is it stalling at idle or under load?

all 3 of my Jeeps are 96 XJ. The one giving me trouble is the red 96 Sport. It's stalling under load. It has stalled idling, but only after warming up. I am going uphill when it stalls. all other things seem okay for it.

Its an 11mm socket. And a 1 ft extension and an universal are invaluable to this project, as well as great patience.

Make sure the wires have not made contact with the manifold, mine did and it was showing identical symptoms. Your could just be burning through.

And I did mine about 2 weeks ago without dropping the front shaft.
