Default A couple questions about control arms.

Which of these lower control arms would be better for on-road drive ability with a 4" lift on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ??

Will the bend cause any problems?? Or will the bend actually offer better on-road drive ability?? I ordered the one with the bend, but I am wondering if I did the right thing?

Also...With a 4 inch lift, should I change the upper control arms as well??

Note: These control arms are available at www.ironrockoffroad.com for $179.99.

the bend is there so it clears the axle shock mounts. it does nothing for the ride quality. if your getting adjustable lowers you might as well get the adjustable uppers too.

Ok, so the bend won't be a contributing factor towards death wobble or anything then?...

I didn't order the uppers because I read that the upper control arms will stay at the same length with up to 4.5" of lift. Plus, my parts are already up to two grand so I am starting to max out on what I can spend right now. Are the upper control arms really necessary or are they just a nice addition that I can do without for now??

I just want to be able to get this 4" lift installed without destroying the on-road drive ability of my truck. It is my daily driver.

And here's a stupid question...Which way are the bent ones installed?? With the adjustable side towards the axle or towards the back?

yea, not by any means steering anyone away from the products in the original post. Just that the owner of ironman4x4fab is a smaller company and not as well known. Andy (at the company) helped me make it to my first wheeling trip earlier this year by shipping everything out quickly. GREAT customer support, answered any questions i had and the products are solid. If i ever need an upgraded part, and he offers it, id definitely get it from him.

i know a few others on the forums have contacted him and gotten fixed lowers also.
