Default A couple questioms here

'96 jeep classic 4.0, I just did the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, I cleaned up the ground from the battery to the chassis and replaced the neg terminal, I started her up and she seems to be running fine, my first question is, could this work help out with an exhaust leak? Or am I just losing my mind? It seems to have gotten much quieter, question 2, what is a normal rpm range for this motor with 138,000 miles on it? I'm running around 900 once it warms up

No, it will do nothing for an exhaust leak.

I guess what belvedere said about it running smoother, I'm going to take it for a ride now and see how it is

x2 on the exhaust leak.

I have a 96 sport and once warmed up I'm around 600-700 rpms at idle. If you want to try and lower it or make it run smoother, take off your throttle body (part where your air hose meets the body) and clean it out good with THROTTLE BODY cleaner. Also, you can remove the IAC sensor and gently clean it with the spray and a toothbrush.

I was curious to know what normal at idle, the rpm is supposed to be around, it is a lit quieter now and runs a lot smoother, I cleaned out the throttle body about 3 weeks ago

750 rpm is normal idle.

Yes, if you're idling as high as 900 when the engine is warmed up you might want to take a gander for vacuum leaks

Will vacuums leaks knock down power and acceleration?

If its bad enough to make you run lean sure, but that would be a very large hole.

What would cause the jeep to have poor acceleration and little power? Reason I'm asking is because my sister got a 96 country and hers gets up and goes and can easily hit max speed while mine has so much trouble even accelerating. Hers has 220k and mine only has 176k

You have a different issue. A vacuum leak of that size would mean there's almost no fuel. Don't hijack, start a new thread.
