Default couple of newb questions

first....planning on going to junkyard for a 8.25....this might be a dumb question but should get driveshaft too or will mine be fine....and after this i plan on regearing....is it just the ring and pinion i have to change out or is it the spidergears also....gonna be running without a locker for awhile

yes get drive shaft ,and ubolts with the jy rear if yours is automatic get one from the same gear ratios are different from stick and auto as for gears maybe someone with that rear knows the cutoff point for the carrier for gear upgrade

Get the drive shaft to the 8.25 has a longer housing and just the ring and pinion for gears on it , up front depending on the hears you go to you may have to get a carrier and I don't know if the spiders will cross over. If you plan on putting the 8.25 in before you do gears make sure and get the same hear ratio autos and 5 speeds have different ratios

yeah mind is a automatic, so my d shaft for turdy 5 wont match up with a 8.25 rear....and was going to get whole axle drum to drum....and for the gears i was gonna go to 4.10

The 8.25 cut off is somewhere around 2.73 you'll be good on it
