Default Correct front axle shaft?

I went to the junkyard and pulled a front drivers side axle shaft out of an 89 XJ for my 93. I feel like it looks a little different, can anyone confirm? I noticed the shaft necks down near where the factory outer dust shield goes. Does it all look normal?

Looks normal, it'll work. The older Dana 30s just had smaller axles and smaller u joints so not quite as strong. It'll work though.

Yeah I have the smaller u-joints already. 1-1/16" Dia

But the shaft looked small in diameter, or perhaps its just the surface rust that is throwing me off.

If the shaft is actually a different diameter, (and I don't know enough about D30's to say if that is a possibility) you might need to be concerned about the seals. If the shaft is smaller it won't seal right or at all.
