We had one here in Wise County, I think the Town of Wise had one and used it for D.A.R.E. operations, not sure here, but I think it was a '97. Now the sheriff's dept. uses the Ford Explorer.

We got a forest green one here in Wirt Co, but it's off the lot and just has a radio, siren in the bumper and lights in the front and rear windows.

I know the IN Highway Patrol used to have them all up and down 65 from Chicago to Indy; and the Crestwood cops by me (they're not XJ's) drive Wranglers for shopping patrols...

My local town has 4 Chargers, and 2 Escapes... Orland has 3 Yukons, and Frankfort has 2 Denali's (leave it to them to be fancy...)

Very cool link. We've got a couple county police XJs down here, but the county in general uses a bunch of XJs and the service department's lot is just filled with TJs. Our shop is just past their lot so it's kinda funny to see 20-30 Sarasota County TJs all parading down Fruitville Rd in the mornings on the way to work, haha.

I used to see them here as Colorado State Patrol vehicles, but I don't see them anymore. They must have been phased out???

That make sense because the last ones made are 8 years old now so are past normal fleet lifespan.

Quick Reply: Cop XJ's, something interesting I found...
