Noslen, I would grab this thing by the b#lls. You guys can buy all the cooling components new for about $250. Takes all the guessing and dicking around out of the issue. You have no service history and have cooling system issues (you haven't answered the question about the head gasket btw)

New radiator, hoses, waterpump, 195C thermostat and viscous fan. Source an electric fan and shroud. And get a new radiator cap. Flush your engine block and fill with 50/50 fresh coolant.

Yes, it's a bit of a hassle.
I will pm you a link to follow to something which I'm sure you find very useful.

head gasket is fine I am for sure missing e fan and shroud the radiator is defiantly shot I put some pressure to it and it shot through the grill. I think im gonna get the e fan shroud and radiator and go from there. don't want to poor a bunch of money in to it yet.

Only XJ's with Factory air came with electric fans.
No Air, no electric fan...
Now finding an XJ without air that is the tough one. But I did it and two door at that.

We bought the last radiator at OReillys for like $120.

mine is ac. and auto zone is 102 for aluminum and 189 for copper. is copper worth the extra money? the e fan is 80 at auto zone. if I can find the shroud that would be nice.

On choice of radiator many many threads have been posted...enough for hours of reading. Depends on your type of use, like dd or heavy wheeling etc etc. Ali with normal tanks, plastic, will be good enough for dd. Sourcing a shroud is like the most difficult. You know what to do for the rest.

Is the e fan plug in just like a 2 prong whether pack plug? My e fan is gone but I see what I'm guessing is the plug in.
