I still don't think it'll be enough. Depends on a lot of stuff though. Where I live we have 100° days in the summer and I drive ~17 miles on the highway then take it through the city and up my mountain. Going from highway driving to stop and go city driving is hell on the cooling system.

The op may want to look into a Taurus fan swap. Removing the clutch fan removes a ton of drag from the engine and allows it to rev much faster.

some but aint gonna compensate for air flow loss with ou fan spining as fast as engine in my opinion

I do mostly city driving, any highway driving I do is a stop right off the exit to where I'm going, would pulling the ac condenser help with cooling? I mean does it restrict air from the radiator a lot? My compressor is shot anyway so it won't really be getting much use especially with winter coming just wondering if that might help any.

Not recommending this but. When I had problems from my mech fan ony 91 I took it off. It was still kinda winter and I left it with just the stock efan for a while. It was around 30-45 degrees during the day. I only had to turn the fan on when I wasn't moving. And when it did it kept it down nice and normal. Granted the rest of my cooling was all up to shape.

I think two stock efans could work. And I really wanted to do it that way, and still kinda do. Or even aftermarket efans. But I still can't get over that. If one or all of them fails. Or a part of the wiring fails. I have no fans at all.

No more than having a fully functioning fan clutch. It sounds really nice accelerating with no fan though! Probably hurt my mpgs.

It could probably help. But it wouldn't be the cause of problems unless its just clogged bad.

The beauty of a thermal fan clutch is....it senses when it is not needed (free-wheels) and senses when it is needed (engages). The amount of free-wheeling/engagement also varies.....a clever design to say the least. If the belt fan is constantly roaring, it's either malfunctioning (not properly free-wheeling) or it's sensing constant high enough heat to stay engaged (thus constant roar).

Again, the OE efan moves 2300 cfm (post #52) and the belt fan will move way more cfm (if needed) than the OE efan at just above idle rpm. I'll bet 2 efans that will pull say 5000+ cfm will also draw some major amps, thus major load on the alternator, thus major drag on the motor.

Stock OE efan numbers:

I've post this in numerous cooling threads as well.......the stock rad fans are not the weak link in the XJ cooling system.....the weak link is the dinky 11" tall rad (low sq.in. surface area/cid).....but whatcha gonna do about that?
