Changed thermostat to a Mopar model (195F) with a hole at 12 o'clock position.
Got this handy $25 funnel that mounts to the radiator.
Poored the correct mix of antifreez/water in it, untill it stopped to like 1/4 of the funnel.
Starting the car to remove any trapped air. The funnel filps up, meaning coolant is comming out of the system instead of in it.
Can anyone explain why and what should be done?

As usual a little confused. LOL.
Not sure what you mean by the funnel flips up.
Guessing you bought one of these:
So you fill up the radiator as much as you can first. Throw some in the overflow tank too.
Then mount the funnel. I just use the 2 pieces marked "A" and the funnel on my '00.
Making sure there is always some fluid in the funnel, does not need to full, start the Jeep.
Now at first it will be sucking down. Again make sure there is always some fluid in the funnel.
But at a point it will start bubbling back up. This is why you don't fill the funnel all the way.
Then it will start burping out air and taking some more fluid in.
Now when I do this I keep the Jeep at about 1500 RPM.
Usually 1/2 hour, 45 minutes tops, am good to go.
Shut her down, let her cool all the way down, take off the funnel, and top off the radiator if necessary.
Also fill your overflow tank to the level you like to keep it at.
And to be safe keep an eye on it for a couple days checking it after you drive it but when cooled down all the way.

Hey Ralph, thanks for the reply.
Everything you described, I did.
What i ment was that the funnel fils itself back up (even when it was almost empty on startup) if it's been idling for like 30 seconds.
The temperature gauges also goes to 110°C or so (230°F). Then i just shut the engine off before causing any damages.
I didn't have any problems while fluhsing, before changing the thermostat.

OK something does not sound right.
But the problem is I have no idea what.
While some anti-freeze should back up in the funnel after running for a bit.
That much that quick is not right.

Issue resolved. Jeep runs good.
Pushed the temperature up, barely hitting the red-line. Finally the heat came up (so the thermostat opened).
Took it for a short drive, temp gauge not going over 100°C (210°F). Removed cap and topped radiator.
There must have been some air stuck behind the thermostat, preventing it from opening (not heating up).
So the extra push is what did it!
Now, when should the E-fan come on?

Just realized you had a '92 and pretty sure you need to turn on the heat.
Since they did away with the heater control valve in '97 and up we don't worry about that.
Sorry I did not realize sooner.
Think mine in my '00 operates different then yours so I can't really help with that.

Curious where you guys are getting Mopar t-stats?
Rockauto has them for a 2005 wrangler with the 4.0 but it is a different part number than the one I've seen listed for our Jeeps.

In my '00 parts catalog is says 52028186.
Looks like for both a gasket and thermostat.
Mine did not come with a gasket but was an opened package so......
In my '96 parts catalog it looks like 83501426.
Again for both gasket and thermostat.
Mine looks to be still available and yours too.
Got me thinking when you mentioned the '05 TJ.
At Napa online I looked up the cheap thermostat for my Jeep.
In the Buyer's Guide section not only does it look like it fits almost every Jeep made. LOL.
Including an '05 TJ.
And a whole mess of other cars too.
Guessing you are looking at the 52028186 part number at RockAuto.
Noticing it does not mention your Jeep.
So no idea what to make of that.
EDIT:
I'm sorry I lied.
Those part numbers are for thermostats but it was a Mopar radiator cap I bought from either Amazon or Ebay.
Not a thermostat.

According to the Amazon reviews for 52028186 the Mopar one is a Motorad in a Mopar box. I wonder if you guys have found that to be the case with yours. In that case, Rockauto has Motorads for my Jeep for $4.

Bought my new thermostat at a Jeep dealership (Belgium - Europe) for like €20.
Asked for part 8350 1426, came in a mopar box with the correct gasket.

Yep, wondered if you had put on the heat.
Even in the 97+ it is good practise to do when filling up the entire system, even without the heater control valve. Takes all the guessing out of there.
Air would not have been trapped behind the thermostat, that's what the hole is for.
The OEM Thermostat is the only item I even bought from the dealer
Funny thing was, I remember the guy saw the price in his system, AUS$ 44 (about US$ 34) and said " that cant be right". He gave it to me for $12. I think the $44 he had seen was the total for 4 thermostats in the shipping he received.
I wasn't surprised really to hear it would be $44 a piece , it being the dealers..

I gotta tell you guys.
There have been plenty of threads about bad out of the box new aftermarket parts.
Also the threads about only using Mopar parts for certain things.
When I bought my Jeep it was a kinda running not really driveable thing.
Nothing crazy as it turned out.
But one of the first things I had to replace was the radiator.
Did the hoses and thermostat too.
Not knowing any better I bought the cheap Napa thermostat.
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/MRD2...ndex=Universal
Well that was over 7 years ago.
And about 2 years ago I had to do the water pump.
Got it in my head I wanted a new thermostat housing. Bought the Dorman one.
Well I bought a brand new Stant SuperStat.
But cause of the bad out of the box threads was hesitant to use it.
So I put back in the cheap Napa one cause it still worked.
Now don't get me wrong I agree with the Mopar parts only way of thinking.
When I did O2 sensors went NGK. When I did my CPS went Mopar.
I have been sourcing other sensors for fear that at some point they won't be available anymore.
Bought an extra Mopar CPS. Extra Mopar IAC, TPS, Camshaft Positioning Sensor, and a Map Sensor.
But I still have that cheap Napa thermostat in the Jeep.
Dumb luck? LOL.
