Crap! Thanks for the offer mwdouglas! I didn't get this post until now. I appreciate you willing to help me. The drip has stoppped the last few time I drove it, so even though I know it's the water pump, going to hold off changing it at the moment. Gotta rust issue dealing with on my TJ that is taking priority. You a member of Middle Peninsula Jeep Assocication by chance?

Yeah my bet is the water pump! Mine looked just like that! Invest in a haynes manual and you'll be just fine! Once mine started leaking i had about 40 miles before it went completely out.
same exact thing happened to me, even looked the same. except mine was just the seal, whoever put that pump on before me did the worst seal job iv ever seen.
so long story short i took it out then resealed it. No problems since.

We all have to set priorities, but a coolant leak should be near the top of the list if you continue driving the vehicle especially in the summer. A drip can become a deluge in a skinny minute. Relieve pressure on the cooling system with the radiator cap, but remember that doing so will lower the boiling point approximately 16 degrees.
