control arm bushings causing dw?

poly bushing are very cheap compaired to factory rubbers

So, after tracking the play down to my tie rod end at the pitman arm, my dad brought up adjusting my steering box ( which I did not realize I could do) so I looked up a how to and adjusted it which helped a ton. It toke me a good 45 minutes to finally get the dw to occur. Once I slowed down to 25 it finally stopped. Is there any chance my box is so worn out there is no adjusting it? I know its not to tight or loose. I looked up a how to in order to make sure I did it correctly. Is it.possible the u joints in my steering shaft is causing it? Any input helps, thanks, -Phil
