Considering a 98 2wd ..question
Actually 2 questions.
It's a 98 se 2wd with 48k. Drives right, looks nice.
1.While inspecting underneath I noticed what I take to be a bump stop tube? hanging down in the middle of the coil spring. It's just a hollow tube with nothing in it-looks like half a shock. Is there supposed to be anything in the inside of open end of this tube?
I had a 96 4wd 3 years ago but honestly can't remember seeing this. Here's a photo:
2. The lift gate hydraulic rod is not attached. Is it possible for the mounting points to be broken? How can I tell?
Thanks for any input.

Wow! You guys don't waste anytime!
Thanks for the welcome.
Are these bumpers obtainable?
Approx. cost?
Easily installed?
...see..that's what happens when you dare to help the new guy - more questions.
Thanks

And throw all the questions you can think of at us. Just be careful which ones you choose to believe. We offer highly skilled correct technical answers, general knowledge yeah that'll works, some questionable guesses, and a whole lot of BS sprinkled in for entertainment.

I would definitely listen to Winston I have looked at others posts and he has always been there helping out, and some of his responses to others have actually helped me out a lot, he seems to be very knowledgeable.

also, you might be able to pick up some aftermarket bump stops at autozone or any other parts store.
and as for the lift gate, they should just pop back on
