Default Considered selling the Jeep yesterday....

I was at Les Schwabs getting a tire rotation, brake check, etc.. and was talkin' to the tech and mentioned that the Jeep only needs to last another year and then its time for something newer. Anyhow he asked how much I would want for it and I told him $3k and he said he was interested and come back when I want to sell...

I thought for a moment that I could sell it right now, but resisted the urge...... $3k seemed like a decent price considering what everything else is selling for right now.

What do you think? Local no rust Jeep with 145k, 3rd owner, all maint history from day 1 including original window sticker, Sport model with 242, 8.25 rear, auto, no ABS, PW or PDL.... New 3" lift and 30" tires. Should I have let her go for that, or ?????

If its a 4X4 with working cold a/c 3K would be too cheap. You couldn't find another one for that price in like condition.

4.5K would be about right maybe.

Why buy something newer? This Jeep could easily last another 100,000+ miles.

I would not sell for that price, mine was $3500 andhas 140,000 on it, and its stock if you have even put a little bit of $ into it i would go for $4000 at the very least

Yes, its a 4x4 and has working A/C. Factory tow pkg w/ trans cooler, etc..

I failed to mention that the PO just did a new exhaust manifold ($686), Cat, brakes & rotors, battery. I just did complete tune including O2, plugs, wires, cap/rotor, air/fuel filters, all fluids changed, radiator, hoses, etc...

Its still finicky and I am skeptical that its going to start evertime I need it too. I carry tools in the back and extra fluids just in case.....

I originaly bought it because it was cheap ($2300) and needed something with 4wd for work and originally planned to keep it only a year and a half or so until I could get the funds together for a newer 4runner/tacoma (yes, I did say the T word).

Lately it appears that people are getting XJ's for a song and a dance and thought that $3k was a good price, but maybe I am wrong???
