Default Complete electrical fail! HELP!!!

Went to start up the 93 cherokee sport this morning to head to work, and it turned over a couple times slowly, then just stopped. Complete electrical fail. nothing electrical works. No headlights, dashlights, radio, wipers. Nothing at all. Help! I have been having problems with the starter not wanting to turn over easily, but its been limping along for about a week until i can come up with the time and cash to replace it.

Have you tried to jump it off? Or tested battery or starter?

Battery is brand new, bought it just before christmas, and i havent jumped it, its in my driveway in a tricky position to jump. It was a sudden loss of all electrical power. Went from all light go to not a single electrical component on the vehicle works.

Dont feel stupid. Total and complete power loss with key turned to on usually means there is no power coming from the batt. Had the same once when I was parked on the beach with upcoming water...thought I would see the XJ go under, until the bolt on the neg terminal was tightened a little more . Had some sweaty palms though..
