Common 4.0 oil leak points

Also I was wondering..... Is this some kind of reusable valve cover gasket or is it silicone/rtv....

It is leaking, he told me it wasn't bad and not to worry about it.
Like cruiser said, start at the top. Best bet, degrease the engine, so that you're starting "clean" so to speak, a lot easier to pinpoint a leak when everything is not covered in oil.
