Default Column Problem

2000 Cherokee, 4.0L, mostly stock.
Long story short, I just got done replacing HVAC box units (heater, evap, blower). And am in the process of putting things back together. I'm sure there will be more bumps in the road after this one, but the main stumper I am running into right now is the steering column refuses to go back into the studs where it once rested. There are four studs and I can only seem to mount to two of them at one time. Not all four like it was when I was taking it out. If someone's dealt with this before, I'd like to hear your input.

Thank you

It is a common thing with those GM type steering columns. When I do it I don't tighten anything down until I have all the bolts/nuts started. Don't be afraid to use a pry bar to get things lined up
