well i got my lift today in the mail and i started to do the front.. i got the old coils off old shocks off new control arms ready to be hooked to the axle but before i do that i gotta put the new springs in.. well i cant i lowerd the axle onto the ground and took the calipers off so i wouldnt mess up the brake line and still i cant get enough room to put the coils in.. anyone know of a way to make a homemade compressor out of anything or am i gonna have to go buy one tomorrow?

Try raising the body up on the jackstands a bit higher, and then jacking up the front axle on the opposite side of the Jeep, which should allow the side you're working on to drop lower.
If that doesn't help, most auto parts stores will rent you spring compressors cheap, if not free.
Be sure to follow all safety precautions, and WEAR EYE PROTECTION!
Hope this helps!

Please rent them or buy a set. The idea of anyone using a home made coil spring compressor scares the hell out of me.

X 3, one of those coil springs coming unloaded right in front of a guys face, which is where your face needs to be when installing it, is a REALLY REALLY ugly thought.

Too bad you aren't close I would give you a set of coil spring compressors. I bought a set years ago for use in my hot rod and have not used them since.

Default coil spring compressors

FYI
When you use the spring compressors put pieces of drywall sandpaper( the mesh that is rough on both sides) between the spring and jaws of the spring compressor. it will prevent the jaws from sliding on the spring and make the job much safer and easier.

jack the body up farther with the axle end touching the ground, you can get more than enough room in there
