Default codes that dont exist?

i have a 2000 xj with 202,000 miles and shes throwing codes. well i have 3 codes and the solutions to 2 of them. but this last code is driving me off the walls bat **** crazy.
code # - P1494
definition - EVAP leak detection pump pressure switch condition
explaination - ECM detected the leak detection pump switch did not change after the soleniod was energized.
well i checked with 3 different auto parts stores and none of them had any clue what a leak detection pump soleniod was. couldnat find anything in their computers about it and i fliped through and read just about every page of my manual and theres nothing to be found about it. its not causing problems that i know of. all its doin is makin my CEL come on.
i have tried to search on here and other forums and even google and have come up with nothing.
if anyone here can help me or clarify what this part/problem may be that would be awesome
thanks in advanced to anyone trying to help

I would think that code PO1494 is referring to the Vapor Canister Solenoid. That is the solenoid by the canister in the front bumper if I am thinking correctly. Usually these codes are popped due to a vacuum leak somewhere in the EVAP system though.

see id think that too but it wont tell me where the leak is coming from. so do i replace the canister or the soleniod or both? or just leave those alone and try to find the leak elsewhere?

I get that all the time when I take my car to the smog check test and the guys at the shop where I take it to say that it is a hose. A couple of years ago, hoses were disconnected. Last time, hose was cracked and had to be replaced.

I hate that code.

I know, late to the show, but I had the same code (P1494). Called the Mopar dealer, the have them $147.00, ouch! I put that in the "last chance" category after I have checked ever tube, fitting, hose, wire (LDP uses 12v to work).
