Clutch job....trans not dropping
Okay...need some help. Ive pulled all bolts, wiring, etc. The engine is supported with a jack
Stand and the trans/tc is on a floor jack. This is what I have available to me so I am making due. As I lower the trans it seperates from the engine but does not drop "free". Do I need to pull back to get it seperated fully and to drop? Never done a clutch so not surehow hard to pull? Also an fyi...I'm in the middle of nowhere...in the dirt... trying to do this, so any tips will help...thanks

I assume you removed the driveshafts and the trans linkage? Trans cooler lines? Wiring harness?
If you are certain all the bolts are out, you may have to pull the trans back a bit more to disengage it. That combo is heavy BTW, you might want to have several sets of hands to steady it on the jack as you lower it.

defnitly use a ratchet strap around the transmission to secure it to the jack, you need to pull back on the transmission to get the input shaft out of the clutch... getting it back in is even trickier because the transmission has to go in at just the right angle to get the input shaft back through the splines, what ever you do do not use the bolts to pull the transmission flat against the flywheel housing.
