Well driving into work today my jeep rpm's read out at idling around 200 and oil pressure around 20. While cruising on the free way it read normal for rpm's and oil was at about 40. All the other gauges seem to be working correctly. But there is no way i'm idling at 200 the motor sounds like its atleast 700. I guess what i'm getting at is it cluster going bad or sensors something like that or something i didn't think of. My jeep is a 95.

Take the dash apart and unplug the main plug behind the cluster then spray it with contact cleaner. I did this to my 94 and it solved my problems of erratic readings...Tj
