closed radiator system to open?
hey everyone my radiator is trashed and i need to change it but i wanna do an open system instead because i have a closed system that is pressurized. i wanna make it so it has an over flow tank rater that a reservoir, does anyone know of any write ups on it

I don't know of any write ups but its fairly easy. Basically you replace the closed radiator with the newer open style. Then remove the closed coolant tank and all the heater hoses you can leave the heater control valve and two hoses coing to the heater core. Run two new heater hoses from the heater control valve to the engine. Then once this is done mounting your new overflow tank is all that is left.

there are actually several write ups on it but im having a hard time finding the links cause my work computer is very limited. i did mine and its super easy (and i am soooo not a mechanic) do a google search..youll be so happy you changed over..best thing i ever did!

That's the fact Jack! Best change over in the world for the closed system. The plastic bottle is a great stress reliever when you get to smash it for the final time!
I did a summit racing in-line radiator cap. It goes in the upper radiator hose near the AC compressor. Then just replace the hose like stated above. I picked up an overflow tank at Advance and put it in the same location as the old puke tank and your done.
