Default Clock spring

For all you clock spring experts. From what I have read all the clock spring does is provided electricity to the air bag. Is this true? Took mine out and feels like I lost mpgs or maybe it's all in my mind.

Horn won't work, and if you have cruise on the steering wheel, that won't work either. Also your blinkers won't auto-cancel. Think that's about it.

What does blinkers auto-cancel have to do with the clockspring.

My clock spring broke in my 00 XJ, and that was something I experienced, along with the other things mentioned. When I replaced the clock spring, that issue went away. I guess it could have been coincidence

They have to be properly aligned, kinda like fuel line magnets.

Don't knock the benefits of fuel line magnets...................

If you don't polar-align your fuel, you lose approx. .000000000674234 mpg!
(or about 0.00004271946624 inches per gallon)
The 4.0 is finicky like that................
On the early ones it gets recycled back to the tank though, so you don't really lose it.................
