Faulty spark plug wire, or a TPS starting to go bad, vacuum leak are a couple possibilities.

before i throw my .02 in, has it been on a code reader. i doubt if the CEL is on, but that doesnt mean that the computer hasent stored something in there that might point you in th right direction. now my .02: poss. the o2 sensors. or, like previously stated, something in the engine bay.
all in all, things like the plugs, wires, cap, rotor (or coil pack if you have the distributerless set up) TPS, IAC valve, or CPS might be to blame. are the fluids good?

Year/Engine? Always post that information for the most accurate replies.

If you know your cat is plugged, (how did you verify this?) it MUST be replaced! That could easily be your problem.

After that, always review tuneup hardware with these driveability symptoms.

Fresh plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter.

Plenty of time to look for more complex possibilities after the above.
