Now, this was not on a Jeep and I don't know what kind of rims you have but I purchased aftermarket wheels for my Altima. They were a special order wheel. They came with the hubcentric rings to go on the hubs. I bought them brand new for over $2000 and they wobbled going down the road. I went back almost every day for 3 weeks trying to get them to fix it. They even replaced the rims with a full brand new set. Still wobbled. Turned out the hubcentric rings didn't allow the rim to sit flush on the rotors. It got crushed when the wheels were torqued and flattened out under the rims. Pulled them, no more wobble. Point of the story is, you may have these rings if they are a special wheel or for a different application. You could also have excessive rust on the face of the drums causing the rim not to sit perfectly flush. I've seen that many times in shops I've worked in. I would check this first before dumping money in to the axle if it's not needed. It would suck to spend $400 to find out build up was the cause of the problem.

it had stock alloy jeep rims on it when i bought it, i drove on them for a month or so, the front end needed everything replaced, so i put a rusty's off road steering conversion on, a new track bar, new sway bar and all associated (polyurethane) bushings, new front axle u-joints. ive put alot of new parts on. i havent pulled the wheels and checked for rust yet, but if my wheels were messed up the road force balance would have picked up on that. so my assumption is the previous owner beat on the jeep. i dont mind puting the money into new, tougher axles cause i would like to lock the rear end and the axles would need upgraded any ways. and thanks for the link, i couldnt find the axles.

You can def tell something isn't right, my jeep is all over the road. I know jeeps don't handle like sports cars, but thus is out of control.
