hi, i live in australia, and i rolled my 96 xj last nite its not worth fixing, and i want to either use it as a bush hack/comp car. either way i want to chop top it, and make a roll cage. i was looking for advice and build treads to guide me. i myself dont have a lot of mecanical knowledge, but my dad will help me with everytng if i have the info. there is not a whole lot of chop toppng in aus so plz help me!!

your chop looks pretty good. mine is a 4 door (iv neva seen a 2 door is aus), but i proberly wouldnt worry with a tail gate. i was goin to chop at least beind the b pillar, but my A pillar is a bit crushed, and if i could i might even cut it off to. i dont need to get it road drivable, so that is not an issue. will a roll cage be suffesiant to hold the body together or if i cut the A pillar will it fold?

As far as choppin the A pillar, I guess you could, as long as you have at least an 8 point cage. Not sure what you plan for a winshield.

i have seen the pirate thread, looks really good, looks really hard to. i will proberly need a 8 point cage. for a windsheild, mabey just a piece of perspex?? ill proberl only be driving on the beach, with a helmet and goggles. is there and good 8 point cage threads around?? i dont have to keep this car legal, she will neva grace the blacktop again
