Default Hub Question??

Let's see if I can ask/explain this without confusing you folks. My XJ is a 97 which the previous owner put a vacuum assist disco in it. I bought new hubs for the disco axle and was in the process of installing OTT steering on it when I decided to buy a 98 axle to make life simpler and better. I have $100 in the two hubs which I bought off ebay. I done a dry run fit on the 98 axle today with the new hubs. With the new hubs and the stock 98 rotors, the rotors will hit the knuckle. With the 89 rotors they clear the knuckles. Would you guys go this route being I have the new hubs,or just buy the right hubs for the 98 axle and sell the other hubs? Hope this wan't to d@mn painful to read and understand.

How much grinding would you have to do to make the clearance needed? any pictures?

No grinding at all. The rotors off the 89 axle fit with the 89 hubs. No grinding,no clearance issues at all. I even put the caliper off the 98 axle on and it clears and fits fine. All I need to remember is to buy rotors for an 89 until one day the hub/s blow..

With the rotors from the 98, there will be a lot of grinding, plus the lug nuts will bottom out before they get tight on the studs..
