Chipped tooth in axle

Chipped tooth in axle
Replacing rear axle bearings today I noticed a chip on one tooth on the axle rod? Right side
oil was low because it was leaking on that side pic included. Differential looked good nothing chipped or metal shavings in the bottom bUT oIL was pretry dark put new oil in.
wondering how bad am I?

I would double check the mating surface on the carrier to make sure there is nothing obviously wrong. But I think you should be fine. When you put it back on pay attention to how easily it goes back on, see if you feel any hangups.

It went back together smoothly no hangups put some new gasket on the carrier case and new seals with a little gasket on the outside. I don t see any oil leaking out now. THanks for the response.
