Going for loud shouldnt be your goal. If it is, run straight pipes. (dont do that)
The super 44 with a hi-flow cat is the best sound I have heard come out of a cherokee with the 4.0 I6. Its deep, throatey, and barks. I am a fan
The problem with glasspacks, is that when all the fiberglass burns out, it sounds like a queefing dog. Its horrible. My friend has one on his rodeo and I just laugh. Every time.
Chambered Mufflers for the win. Now...the cherry bomb extreme is the ****. Its like 8 inches long, and has one chamber. Its super beefy, and I imagine is sounds great! Too bad they dont work unless you get it welded on. I learned that the hard way. Long story short, AAP is full of chronic liars who dont know anything

Don't forget to check out the Thrush Welded muffler. It's a chambered design that is essentially a copy of the Flowmaster 40 series. When Flowmaster designed the 40 series muffler they patented it of course, but eventually patents run out. When Flowmasters patent ran out, Thrush began building an almost I dentical muffler for around $30-$40. Sounds the same and the 40 series, and costs a bunch less. Certainly something to consider if you are on a college student's budget, and aren't too concerned about what sticker you get to put on your window (obviously not the case if you are considering a Cherry Bomb catback, lol). I personally have the DynoMax UltraFlow muffler and have been considering a switch to the Thrush Welded/Flowmaster 40 design muffler. That or a Flowmaster 50 series, now those sound AWESOME!

good sound part is about 4:43. it sounds bad ***...different sounds between 40 and glasspack...but glasspack is $25 and flowmasters $60+...so i went with the cheaper.

Just make sure if you go with the 40 series muffler make sure it says "original 40" because they also make a "Delta Flow 40" wich is a lot quieter. E-bay has the Flowmaster Original 40 for around $65 with shipping.
Exhaust exits in stock location, at the rear with a turn down.
At low rpm I like the rumble it has, but otherwise it kinda gets to me.

I am running an 18 inch glasspack with no cat also and it is loud in the driver seat at a certain rpm, but when I sit in pass. seat it's not all that loud. Do you have a problem with the loudness in driver seat? I will be removing it soon for something a little quieter, just wondering if I was the only one with this problem.

I do love the low end rumble. I dont what anyone says it sounds mean. But when you get to the upper end it gets a bit annoying at times.

I'm running the cherry with a cat. I can definatly say it made it easier the blow the gut's of the cat out the tail. Thats what happened to mine and it got louder after that.
