cherokee on wrangler frame

I'm working on a similar project. I love my 87 Comanche, but I wish it had a diesel, a 6sp and 241 t-case, and a real frame. So whats a guy to do?
My build: I'm taking the Comanche body, stacking it on the rubicon frame, that gives me the 6sp and 241, then I'm stacking my MJ/TJ onto a M936 frame I just bought. Now that give me a super strong frame, a diesel, plus 6-wheel-drive. (Advance Adapters makes a kit for this)
With the three rigs welded together I should have about 24" of lift, which according to my calculations is twice as cool as 12. Plus I'll have plenty of clearance for the 44's I plan to run.
You build isn't nearly as cool as mine.

1 rubicon axels are factory locked so you pointing that out about a open rear end with factory gears was pointless.
2 the main purpose is not for more lift because i can and have done that already. the main purpose if to coil over the rear end and to put more support under my cherokee because my frame is bent and cracked and frame stiffeners wont help it
and to let you know my **** already has 12 inches of lift and 39 inch super swamper tires and said it has held up pretty damn well while you are probably riding stock with ats i want more flex you cant do anything when ur tires are in the air and a little extra i have 538 gears and detroit front and rear with moly shafts

read the post. both vehicles have already been wrecked. the wrangler rubicon has been rolled over the only thing good on it is the drive train and the frame the body is useless. and the cherokee was hit in the rear before it was lifted and the frame is cracked and thats already been said read everything first. and as far as the other guy goes my jeep is currently on 39 with 12 inches of lift and have broke a few xj s in half because of the way i ride if it want go up over or through i put that pedal most are scared of in the floor did i mention my jeep still looks good enough to take the ol lady out on fri night

why is the title of this thread "cherokee on a wrangler frame" when all you wanted to know is the compatibility issues of the 2 computers?
sounds like someone wanted to stir something up from the start.

Good point. Its a little misleading from the start. Everyone is going to think its a discussion for/about swapping the two together.

I've been wanting to throw mine a M35A2 frame. Do you guys think it would fit? I'm thinking the XJ might bea little too heavy for the suspension to handle. Oh well, I'm going to do it anyway, I dont care what you guys think!
On a serious note, I think you have basically made a joke of yourself on this forum. I think you have insulted enough people that you will probably not get any useful information. Good luck with the future ride there spaceman!

Maybe if he searches for those posts that talk about putting a corvette motor in a cherokee might help.
I believe those guys use the corvette computer in combination with the jeeps, or something like that.
I would think the company that helps people get their jeep computers in sync with the corvette computers might be the guys to contact.
Maybe someone remembers what those old posts were.

One question I had for the original PO is "what is the distance between frame rails on the Rubi and Cherokee"? Will one fit in between the other? Rather than sitting the unibody on top of the Rubi's frame maybe you could tuck one inside the other or straddle the other. That might make this interesting.
I believe those guys use the corvette computer in combination with the jeeps, or something like that.
I would think the company that helps people get their jeep computers in sync with the corvette computers might be the guys to contact.

I personally wouldn't recommend it, but that is certainly no reason not to do it..
