its part of being on here, it don't matter how cool you may think something is, there will always be a critic, and other people that may not think its as good an idea as you may think.....

but like i said, i'm not trying to dump on your project, in just in my opinion i thinks its not a great idea..... but thats just me

but like others said i would also like to see some pics of the project...
they can criticize and mock all they want the thing is if i see them out at a ride and they cant go no more due to the lack of flex and tire size and i pass then or perhaps have to drag them the rest of the way it will all be worth it

heck, howbout you just strip the suspension off the cherokee and then strip the ruby down to the frame and susp. and plunk the chopped up cherokee right on top (just plug the susp. right in...), keep the rubys d-shaft hook it in and ur good to go!!!!!

Why cant you just retain the Rubi computer. And as far as gauges just run some from Auto Meter, and head lights and tail lights and such you should be able to make work. If your at such a level of meshing up frames then a little electric work should be nothing.
if you are refering to the blue xj on this website i agree it dont look right but the tj frame is half the size if not more.

THATS THE PLAN!!!!! except the the frame has to be extended and the rubicon drive will have to be changed to a longer drive shaft. and btw my xj isnt chapped up!

Not referring to that atrocity, Ive seen one with my own eyes. Looks terrible.

I thinks pirate 4x4 is where you need to be with the topic.

You or your friend should just stick the rear suspension under the XJ with the drive train.

A. i was being sarcastic

B. i figured you would have to chop up the c-key to get it to work with the shorter wheelbase

i think its a neat idea though

you are the exact reason why some state laws are changing their lift laws to certified lift components only, meaning unless a professional installs an approved lift its not considered road legal or even considered drive-able and
this is where the stupid part comes in, its dumb to lift your cherokee just for the sole purpose of getting the most lift/having the tallest rig.... (and thats what it sounds like your trying to do) addind a frame under it to gain lift is deffinitely one of the dumbest ways to help clear tires..... etc.... your lift is only as good as your components your runnning.... so if your running stock axles stock gears... etc it don't matter if you have 8" lift or 28" lift, you'll prolly have an open rear end and you won't even come close to proper gearing for the tires you can fit and your frame will still ground out and also....... it don't matter if you stack 15 truck frames on top of each-other... your still gettin the same flex.. .think about it, your axles max out... or hopefully they do b4 they screw something up....

i doubt you'll be laughing at anyone... cuz in the end of it all ur the Dumb-a$$ that ruined a perfectly good rubi frame and wasted a ton of time just to gain 7" of frame lift...
any veteran or real jeeper out there will point and say "what a retard" when they see your "super lifted rig"

but still anyways good luck with the build

1 rubicon axels are factory locked so you pointing that out about a open rear end with factory gears was pointless.
2 the main purpose is not for more lift because i can and have done that already. the main purpose if to coil over the rear end and to put more support under my cherokee because my frame is bent and cracked and frame stiffeners wont help it
and to let you know my **** already has 12 inches of lift and 39 inch super swamper tires and said it has held up pretty damn well while you are probably riding stock with ats i want more flex you cant do anything when ur tires are in the air and a little extra i have 538 gears and detroit front and rear with moly shafts

Nobody said coils in back is bad. thats why guys do coilovers in the rear.

Also originally no one was trying to offend you, they were just explaining that this is probably a bad idea and trying to explain why, when you took offense to that, which is why your now getting the response your getting.

also telling ktm, he doesnt "beat on his xj" is pretty funny. hes got an xj that on 36's and does rock crawling competitions, now what exactly would be harder on a vehicle??

seriously, man theres a different between going out and wheeling and recieving some trail damage, and just going out and beating the **** out of your truck. If you beat hard enough on an xj to make it fold up, to the point of uselessness which is what i think you were trying to say here, any vehicle will be really messed up after that, full frame or uni.

And i wheel with a lifted 04 rubicon, the only time he can make it farther than me is cuz of his lockers, if i ahd lockers wed be even. so stop trying to act like you know everything about wheelin.

and hell, no guts no glory, you wanna wreck 2 vehicles go for it. hope it turns out the way you want though, in all seriousness.
