cherokee stalling problem
i have a 96 cherokee and i recently just finished my stroker..it ran fine for a day and then it started to stall when it would get warm, only at a stop or low speeds and switching to reverse..but it would start right back up no problem.
now it stalls and doesnt start back up and sometimes will randomly start back up sometimes.
i cant figure it out. i replaced cps and loosened pcm screws because ive read that it causes stalling and fixed for some ppl..idk what else to try

try changing out the throttle positioning sensor when mine went out it would stall at idle and then i would have to give it gas for it to start its cheap and easy to change

I had a bad stalling issue similar to your symptoms for about two months. I tried the usual throttle body stuff and the cps, but it ended up being the ignition module. its been a couple weeks since i replaced it and so far so good.

This may sound crazy but you might want to check your battery!
Like I said, it sounds crazy but I had exactly the same problem a couple years ago... I had it into a shop and they replaced the crank position sensor and it seemed to help for a couple days but then things went right back to same old...
Was at a fast food joint one night and it started to give me the same problems again... was trying to get it started and having no luck... Guy came by and inquired whats happining... Told him...
He looks under hood (was open at that point) and says... I smell battery acid!
Stuck my face down there and sure enough... then I could smell it... Tried wiggling the post again... and there was a little movement (tiny ammount)... went and bought a new battery at WallyWorld and put it in...
Fired right up and haven't had the problem again - mind you this was two years ago - so that must have been the prob... Maybe the battery was shorting out internally, momentarilly, intermittantly....
So if you have another battery around give that a shot.
