cherokee sport window problem
Ok first let me say thank you for any help. I have a 1997 cherokee sport. I had the window issue that comes from the drivers window lock switch. I bypassed that so all the windows worked at each door. That was last year. Now the only window that works is the drivers window. None of the other windows work from anywhere. I switched fuse/resistor number 28 and 29 and there was no change. I bought a working drivers switch and installed it with no change. Can someone give me some direction please? My dog is sad that she can't ride with her head out the back window.

If you bought a working window switch/console (and you mean working for ALL 4 windows right, not just 1,2, or 3), and its not the fuses (did you check them, or only swapped them?) etc, I'd reckon you have a possible problem in the wiring running from the driver's window/doorlock operation console...
Btw, can you operate all the other windows from the driver's window switch, or not even that? If so, you might want to look at the solder points on the "motherboard" of the console.

Do a search on You Tube for this problem. There is a video showing how to fix the switch.
My 1999 Cherokee Sport has been the same way for all of the time I have owned it. 3 years.
Last week I pulled the switch and followed the video instructions and repaired my switch. All of my windows work correctly not.
I have no prior soldiering experience and it was pretty easy.

I bought a working switch for the drivers door. The original one was modified by me with a soldering gun. That fixed the original problem of the windows ONLY working from the drivers door. That mod was done a year ago. This is different. When it first happened I assumed it was the drivers door switch. I figured my hack had somehow caused this new issue. So I bought a working but not new switch for the drivers door. I installed it and it has the same symptoms as the original"modified" drivers door switch. I swapped the relays 28 and 29 with no change. I do not know how to test the relays so I will get some new ones. Could I have a ground problem? I read somewhere that the ground in the door to Chasey wiring gets corroded or breaks all together. I will try to ground the drivers door switch and see if that works. Any other ideas?
