Default Cherokee Orvis 4.0 Auto 2001 rear breaks can't bleed

Hello,
I've just bought my first Cherokee, which is my first 4x4 as well. Unfortunately while transporting it one of the rear break lines snapped where it connects to the wheels, so I lost quite a bit of fluid, as I needed to drive it for a few miles. It still stopped but after hard pressing, I guess front brakes worked. The mechanic I use is no expert on Cherokee and reported that he can not bleed the brakes after he reconnected and refilled the system. I've tried to read similar problems but with no experience diy knowledge I am a bit lost. Can somebody help? I need to report back to the mechanic to sort it out.

try bleeding the master cylinder first but the back can be a right nightmare to bleed easier with a hydrolic/electric bleeder

Its possible the bleeder screws are clogged with corrosion or debris they may need to be replaced

1st of all welcome to CF!

2nd did the mechanic give you any explanation as to why he couldn't bleed them or has he tried bleeding them and it doesn't work or... just wondering why he couldn't bleed them. You might want to call him up and have him explain what the exact problem is.

If the problem is just that the mechanic just doesn't know how to bleed them here is a decent write up on it...
